About Shekhinah

Shekhinah B. is a creative hybrid and versatile professional. She's an internationally acclaimed vocal performer, a dedicated advocate for the arts, a skilled cultural producer, a thoughtful conversational curator, and the author of The Art Economic Empowerment Workbook & Take Charge.

She has made a significant impact in the nonprofit and creative cultural sectors, championing art as a tool for community connection, promoting emerging artists, and amplifying underrepresented voices. She played a pivotal role in co-organizing Pennsylvania's inaugural Juneteenth Wine & Arts Festival (JWAF) and was honored by the City of Philadelphia in both 2023 & 2024 with public award citations for the historical and celebratory Juneteenth event.

As the Executive Director and Founder of The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, Shekhinah is committed to the education, unification, and empowerment of creatives through initiatives fostering creative expression, self-sufficiency, multiculturalism, self-esteem, and collective growth. She is also the creative cultural producer of Sistahs Attune, working to enhance workforce development opportunities within the creative economy and expand culturally relevant platforms for Afro-Centric creativity.

With over 15 years of diverse musical experience, Shekhinah is a dynamic recording artist and songwriter. She was honored with a historical citation award from the City Council of Philadelphia in 2022 for her Art Economic Empowerment Initiative and has received numerous grants and awards, including the Black Music City Award and the Encore Music Award. Her musical expertise spans genres such as Jazz, Soul, Blues, Pop, Funk, House, and R&B.

Shekhinah holds a Master’s degree in Nonprofit Leadership and certifications in Grantsmanship, Fundraising, Digital Marketing, and Human Services, bringing a wealth of expertise to grant writing, nonprofit strategy, and arts administration.

The Women’s Coalition for Empowerment, Inc., in partnership with the Delaware River Waterfront Corporation, presents the 3rd Annual Juneteenth Wine & Arts Festival. Curated by Shekhinah B., this family-friendly event will showcase Pennsylvania wineries, live performances, local art exhibitions, and craft vendors, celebrating Juneteenth and Black culture. Wine consumption is limited to attendees 21+.
